Still on the road: Sulawesi

Yes, this blog has been rather quiet – and the travelling accordingly busy and breathtaking! Recently we had to change our travel plans: Taifuns were causing floodings in the Philippines, so we decided to visit Brunei and Sulawesi instead. A bit sad to miss out the Philippines, but Sulawasi is a fascinating island! But we… Continue reading »

Our route in North India

We only had scattered internet access in Nepal – so here comes our delayed update with our route in North India. The missing city “G” is Jaisalmer – a beautiful fort in the middle of the desert. Just follow the link to Google Maps for a closer look! Pictures will follow!

Complete temples carved out of a single rock!!!

Ellora is absolutely astonishing: These temples are carved out of the rock! It started off with caves, but the later works include complete multi-storey-temples made directly out of one single huge stone!! Just imagine: The big temple measures 47×81 m2; they carved out 200.000 tonnes of stone!!!

Our way in southern India

By now we are already traveling in the north, so it’s time to give you a complete look at what we visited in the south: There’s no way to summarize our impressions -  it feels a looooong and fascinating time we have been traveling by now. Hampi – Ruins in a magical landscape

After having spent a day getting to know the area of Panaji on Scooter, we headed on to Hampi. Lots of historical buildings (when Hampi had been a capital roughly 500 years ago) in a magically sculptured landscape!  I know it sounds extremely exagerated – but look for yourself!

We finally got some pictures on Kintu!

Just a few days have past so far, but we already took loads of pictures! Goa and Hampi are just wonderful places – just have a look! Goa is quite special because of its mix with the portuguese colonial architecture. At some point the city Old Goa was even bigger than London! Getting to know… Continue reading »

Back from Morocco

We got back from Morocco! It was absolutely wonderful – but just have a look for yourself. (Just follow the link to have a look at the pictures.) It is so close, with a history intermingled with the European one, but yet so different in its culture, landscape and just how it feels in daily life!
